Privacy Notice - Job applicants
Introduction
Streamliners is committed to your privacy. This privacy notice describes how we collect, receive, use, store, share, transfer, and process your personal data when you interact with us through our communications channels, systems, websites, products, and services. It also describes your choices and rights regarding your personal data, including your rights to access and correct it. For this notice "personal data" means any information relating to an identified individual.
Our policies and procedures for handling personal data comply with the data protection laws in the countries where we operate, including the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, the Australian Privacy Act 1988, the Canadian Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act 2000 (PIPEDA), and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and their amendments.
We share personal data from job applicants between national Streamliners companies and Streamliners NZ Ltd, based in New Zealand.
What information do we collect and process?
We collect and process personal data about you when you apply for a job with us.
The personal data we process includes:
your name, home address, email address, and/or phone numbers
your date of birth, marital status, nationality, and National Insurance number (where you provide this to us)
your educational and employment history
other information contained within your CV or other documents or information you submit to us
information from the selection process, if any
references relating to your work from previous employers
Assessment data used as part of the recruitment process
medical and financial information (where you provide this to us)
information to confirm your identity and right to work, such as a copy of your passport
information relating to your feedback on our organisation
details of any criminal convictions
With your specific consent, information relating to your ethnicity, gender, nationality, disability, religion, sexual orientation, and other diversity-related information.
What is the source of this information?
We collect this information directly from you, as well as from third parties such as recruitment agencies, background checking companies, and former employers.
How do we use your information and what is the legal basis for its use?
We process the personal data we collect in accordance with our legitimate interests to enable us to make recruitment decisions and comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.
How long will you keep my personal data?
If you are unsuccessful in obtaining the role you applied for, we retain your personal information for no longer than 6 months after the role is filled, unless we gain specific approval from you to retain it for longer.
If you are successful in obtaining the role you applied for, your personal information forms part of your employee file.
Where is my data stored?
We use various security technologies and procedures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, use, or disclosure. We store your personal data on secure computer servers in a controlled environment. We also use appropriate physical, technical, and organisational measures to safeguard all personal data.
Who do we share your data with internationally?
The personal data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored outside, your country or region. We share personal data between national Streamliners companies and Streamliners NZ Ltd, based in New Zealand. It may be processed by staff operating outside your country or region who work for us or for one of our suppliers. In such cases, the third country’s data protection laws will have been approved as adequate by the relevant authorities, or other applicable safeguards will be in place.

Withdrawal of consent – When we use consent as our lawful basis you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.
If you make a request, we must respond to you within one month.
